2007, a
In America, almost every life
has been affected or infected by HIV/AIDS. Because of
stigma and homophobia, including
substance abuse users and needles, many Americans
throughout our great nation has started some kind of
community based, faith based, or AIDS Service
organizations. Many organizations have been great ones
and have really changed how America looks at the
disease. Many have been started in the 21st
Century because of the notion that there are monies for
helping people with HIV/AIDS and doing for self gain
instead of Love, Compassion and Remembrance.
Realistically, this fact is not true. We have too many
organizations, with too many missions, objectives and
goals. What we need is a national grassroots
organization with many other organizations joining
together as one.
Our goal with Dining Out
REDD™
is to make this into reality. Our basic strategy is to
keep HIV/AIDS at the forefront of every kind of disease
that we have in America. So, AIDS will be the catalyst
using all health issues to bring together a unified
forefront with all national recognized health months,
weeks and days throughout the year. In America, we have
so many health disparities. Using these disparities with
HIV/AIDS at the forefront will be a new way of bringing
this disease to an end and still making sure we deliver
to Americans the many issues of health that affects
everyone across our nation.
Dining Out
REDD™
will be the first year long dining out program dealing
with HIV/AIDS and all healthcare issues relating to the
month regarding the National month the disease is
recognized. We have so many restaurants, nightclubs and
bars that this national grassroots campaign will be able
to reach out every month to thousands who will they
dine, go out for a dance, or watch TV at Sports Bars.
Believe it or not, many health disparities come from
doing what Americans love to do, EAT! Yes, there may be
other health disparities which are hereditary and passed
on through RNA and DNA of family medical traits and
history. Diabetes and Strokes are just two health issues
that are related to outcome of Heart Disease. Breast
Cancer is one of America’s best educated health issue
that organizations such as the
Susan G. Komen for the Cure
leads all health issues
with support from all kinds of Americans, not based on
race, gender, or sex. Not a day for Black, Latino,
Native American Indian, or Asian Americans. Women and
men, both affected and infected by Breast Cancer always
fight together all year long and everyone knows that
Breast Cancer Awareness month is October and if you see
a Pink Ribbon on someone at the Grocery Store, a sticker
or State Issued license plate, you see the
Pink Breast Cancer
Awareness Ribbon.
Dining Out
REDD™,
Inc. takes there hat off for breast cancer awareness and
heart disease awareness. Our first recipient, the
American Heart Association, will receive 20% of the
proceeds for the month of June. Our dynamic website will
keep you informed on many health issues and the places
you can go across America every month and Dine Out
REDD™
to continuously help in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Dining Out REDD™
will have a specific health disparities each month that
will receive the 15%. Every American Dining Out
REDD™
has the opportunity to choose what health issue that
they would like to send in donations via the website
each month and when they choose the restaurant,
nightclub or bar of their attendance, they will also
have a chance to give to a specific health issue (s).
We are excited about this
nationwide program. We thank all Americans in advance
for their help in the continued fight against HIV/AIDS
and if you would like to become a soldier in the “War on
AIDS”, please feel free to go to our website at
www.isupportthewaronaids.org
and become a soldier to win this war. We also thank each
and every one of you who participate in this program.
Yes, their have been many ideas of this nature, but not
one that focuses on HIV/AIDS all year long and every
month keep Americans aware of the many health
disparities we salute with National months regarding to
diseases.
Here are just a few statistics regarding HIV/AIDS
that we hopefully you will read and realize that this
disease is terminal. We have new medications that
prolong the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS, but
there is no HIV vaccine or medical cure for AIDS.
Prevention is one of the most important ways to lower
the number of new HIV cases. Testing is another crucial
way to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS. If you happen to be
in the “at risk behavior” that many Americans happen to
be, please take care of yourself and remember others.
Here is some information concerning HIV/AIDS and Heart
Disease, separately and how they co-exist.
HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. You may go for years
living with HIV before it becomes AIDS.
One American every 9 ½ minutes are newly diagnosed with
HIV.
1 of every 16 African American Men are HIV
Positive
Globally, AIDS is the leading cause of death of all
Women and 1 in 4 die every 15 minutes.
The myth concerning gay-white males and HIV/AIDS from
the onset in the early 1980’s was just not the truth.
All Americans were being infected and affected by the
disease but many races of people were ashamed and
basically lied about their diagnosis.
Over 14,000 Americans die each year in the US
More than one million people are living with HIV in the
U.S. (an estimated 1,106,400 adults and adolescents),
and approximately one in five of those (21 Percent) are
unaware of their infections. **Note: The CDC did not
officially begin reporting HIV cases in 36 states until
2006. Only AIDS cases were reported since its conception
on June 5, 1981.
Despite increases in the total number of people living
with HIV in the US, the annual estimate of new
infections are basically the same.
***While Black Americans represent 12 Percent of the
population, they account for almost half of people
living with HIV in the U.S. (46 percent) as well as
nearly half of new infections each year.
The rate of new HIV infections for black men is about
six times as high as that of white men, nearly three
times that of Hispanic men, and more than twice that of
black women. The HIV incidence rate for black women is
nearly 15 times as high as that of white women, and
nearly four times that of Hispanic women.
***The
continued increase in Black American communities is
because of lack of necessary behavior changes. AIDS
doesn’t kill, behavior does and emphasis must be focused
on Prevention and Behavior to bring the high rates of
incidence in the Black Communities, Churches and Faith
based organizations to ensure communities of color, men,
women and teen counts will drastically be reduced for
most of the 21st Century new infections of
HIV.
The Southeast states have the highest number of new HIV
infections and those living with AIDS including our
Nation’s Capitol, Washington, DC (Virginia, North
Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama,
Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, and
Louisiana)
Men who have sex with men (MSM) account for more than
half of all new infections in the U.S. each year.
1 of 4 teens has an STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease)
1 of 4 teens are infected with HIV every hour of the
day.
Almost 50% of teens between 13 and 19 have had sex. 40%
of those have had sex without prevention methods.
Heart Disease in America
Heart Disease is the number one killer of all
Americans. While eating out, dining in at home, or at a
nightclub or bar, American’s must watch their diet.
Obesity is on the rise by millions each year, which may
be the major cause of Heart Disease and many lead to a
major heart attack resulting in death.
We must also do our best to combat Heart Disease.
There are quite a few things we can do to slow down the
rate of Heart Disease in America. In principle, all
people can take steps to low their risk for Heart
Disease and Heart Attacks.
Prevent and control High Blood Cholesterol which
is a major risk factor for heart disease, changing diet,
keeping healthy weight an exercise are key components.
Adults should have their cholesterol levels checked at
least once every year.
Prevent and control High Blood Pressure. Lifestyle
actions such as diet, physical activity, not smoking and
healthy weight will keep normal blood pressure levels
and adults should have their blood pressure checked on a
regular basis.
Prevent and control Diabetes of Americans has an
increased risk of heart disease, weight gain, and
regularly physical activities will lower risks for
diabetes. Over 24 million Americans have diabetes
including Juvenile diabetes. Again, obesity gains in
millions every year makes for more diabetes cases and
more heart disease.
No Tobacco is also a key to prevention of Heart
Disease. Smoking increases the risk of High Blood
Pressure, Heart Disease and Stroke. Never smoking will
be a key factor in stopping Heart Disease. Stopping or
quitting smoking will also be a major key in stopping
Heart Disease.
Maintaining healthy weight, regular physical
activities and proper diet and Nutrition will slow down
the progress of Heart Disease, Stroke and Diabetes.
HIV and Heart Disease co-exist with one another due to
the medicines that people living with HIV/AIDS take each
and everyday. Those living with HIV and/or AIDS should
talk to their physicians about checking for Heart
Disease and changing various types of HIV/AIDS medicines
to help prevent Heart Disease which will end up in death
much more quickly because of their infections. Many
Americans that are living with full blown AIDS should
make it top priority to monitor their hearts and
maintain well eating habits, regular exercise, and
excessive use of alcohol. These priorities will help
from getting Diabetes, Heart Disease, High Blood
Pressure, High Cholesterol and Strokes. |
