EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY!
In America, currently there are
1781
people on the ADAP WAITING LIST
and are not receiving the life threatening medicines due to
HIV/AIDS!
President Barack Obama signed the Ryan White HIV/AIDS
Treatment Act of 2009 on Friday, October 30, 2009. Since the
signing of one of the US Government biggest medical federal
government programs, 1001 Americans are on this list as of
April 30, 2010, waiting on life threatening medicine. The
Ryan White Act has a budget of $2,087,495,132. ADAP (AIDS
Drug Assistance Plan) is only one program under the Ryan
White Act that needs immediate attention.
Genesis Network and Counseling Center, Inc, an Atlanta
based 501c(3) non-profit organization has declared an
official “War on AIDS”. Raymond Davis, Founder, Chairman/CEO
of GNCC, Inc., and President/CEO of the American AIDS
Association and Health Institute, Inc., (AAAHI), stated,
“the US Congress and the White House Administration’s Office
of National AIDS Policy, should make this an emergency
situation”. Davis, a Pioneer in the fight against HIV/AIDS,
other Health Issue’s, and Human Rights, also explained that
“the US Congress and the White House Administration are
playing Russian Roulette with American lives.”
Davis, 45 years old, is a 27 year HIV/AIDS Survivor,
who is nationally and internationally known for his
outspoken commitment as an HIV/AIDS Advocate, Activist,
Author, Politician, and Minister. Davis states, “I’m blessed
and fortunate to have Medicare and private insurance.” But
continues by saying, I only take two AIDS medicines, but
without private insurance and $70 deductibles, he discloses
that the pharmaceutical costs for these two Protease
Inhibitor’s (PI’s) total $1,873.98 per month or $22,487.63
per year.” Some Americans take more HIV/AIDS medication with
very high pharmaceutical prices and tops with at least one
medicine that is over $3,000 per month. Most people living
with AIDS, has some other health disparities that come with
being a long time AIDS
Survivor, which incurs more medication and more costs
that are not covered by the Ryan White Act. Twenty-nine
years later, Stigma and homophobia still
plagues this disease. We must unite for the fight on the
“War on AIDS.” Please visit our website at
www.Isupportthewaronaids.org. When going into battle
there are two things that are needed in order to win a war,
troops and finance. Become a soldier and enlist today. We
know we’ve been in a recession for the last three years, but
whether its $5 dollars or $500 dollars, please send a
picture so you can stand and be counted as a soldier in the
“War on AIDS”. We can’t sit around waiting for the
government to assist us with this life threatening disease.
There is no HIV vaccine or cure for AIDS; it still is a
terminal illness. There is already one soldier that has died
in combat in SC and in 2006, there were over 3,000 Americans
on the ADAP list. Four soldiers died in SC. The estimate in
helping get those 1001 Americans off the list is between $25
and $50 Million dollars. (This will be enough for one year)
In the 2008 Presidential race, both President Obama and
Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, raised $50,000,000
dollars up to $100,000,000 dollars from month to month
during a long political race.
Almost every American has been affected or infected
by HIV/AIDS. Davis has sent letters asking President Barack
Obama to declare “War on AIDS”, on June 1, 2010 along with
members of the US Senate H.E.L.P. Committee, (Health,
Education, Labor and Pension), Madam Speaker, Nancy Pelosi,
Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, Secretary of HHS,
Kathleen Sebelius, and every member of Congress. One way or
another, we will declare “War on AIDS” in the US on June 1,
2010 in every state and our US Territories.
